Ponce Inlet Offshore Fishing Report for July 16th – 18th
Offshore fishing report July 16th: Trolling bite was a little slow but we can always rely on the barracudas for a fun fight. These guys come 5 feet out of the water trying to throw the hook. Very acrobatic and they like to fight all the way to the boat. Offshore fishing report July 18th: The King and Spanish Mackerel’s are back. Trolling over structure and ledges will get them fired up with live bait or bright colored spoons. Using wire to the spoon will prevent break offs from their razor sharp teeth. Ponce Inlet Offshore Fishing Report for July 9th – 11th
Offshore fishing report July 9th: Tons of weeds moved closer to shore which brought the pelagic bite into the 80 to 150 foot of water. Although it’s a chore to clear all the baits as you troll through the miles and miles of sargassum it usually yields good results. Naked ballyhoo got the most bites. Offshore fishing report July11th: We ran a little different trip this time. Stayed close to shore and fished for bonita on light spinning rods. Using vertical speed jigs we cast into the school of bonita and it didn’t take long to get a bite.

Trolling slowed down but the bottom fishing has been great. Cobia still around, red eye snapper and plenty of red snapper practice when the season finally opens. Bonita cut bait is recommended for grouper and squid on chicken rigs seem to get the best bites. Capt. Nick Searok Charters
