Fishing in unfamiliar territory is always challenging but the rewards are better because you’re not expecting much. We took a family trip to Bimini and did a little offshore fishing. Leaving the safe harbor of south Bimini you didn’t have to travel far to find good fishing grounds. You can literally swim to shore that’s how close we were fishing in 400-600 feet of water. Bottom fishing you can expect tons of trigger fish, yellow eye snapper and strawberry grouper. Trolling north you can expect to catch black fin tuna, skip jacks and Mahi. Fishing in the Bahama banks never disappoints.
