Just because red snapper is out of harvest season doesn’t mean you can’t catch them. They are great fighters, great for pictures and when vented correctly they have a high percent recovery rate. We have caught these guys anywhere from 3 miles from shore all the way to over 200′ of water. We’ve caught them on just about any lure or bait. We’ve even caught them on a fly rod. Now if we would just have a longer season than 5 days would be even better.

Ponce Inlet Offshore Fishing Report by Capt. Nick
Offshore fishing out of Ponce Inlet has been a bit challenging to say the least. Trolling has been slow so we are mostly bottom fishing. That never seems to disappoint. Red eye snapper, trigger fish, sea bass and of course your classic red snapper have been plenty. We target trigger fish specifically for their incredible eatability. Capt. Nick Searok Charters

Ponce Inlet Offshore Fishing Report for July 16th – 18th
Offshore fishing report July 16th: Trolling bite was a little slow but we can always rely on the barracudas for a fun fight. These guys come 5 feet out of the water trying to throw the hook. Very acrobatic and they like to fight all the way to the boat. Offshore fishing report July 18th: The King and Spanish Mackerel’s are back. Trolling over structure and ledges will get them fired up with live bait or bright colored spoons. Using wire to the spoon will prevent break offs from their razor sharp teeth. Not much beats a bowl of

Ponce Inlet Fishing Report: May 5th-13th
The offshore bite has officially begun. Mahi are showing up in the 150 to 300 foot range. Look for color change and troll the temperature break at the edge. You will also find black fin tuna and sailfish mixed in. Sea witch rigged ballyhoo and green spoons seem to get the most bites. Amber jacks are starting to migrate over structure. Speed jigs and live pin fish work best. Also, Grouper season opened up May 1st. Capt. Nick www.searokcharters.com

Warmer waters in the gulf stream is where all the wahoo are hanging out. Due to the extreme cold winter and rough seas our offshore days have been limited. Winter Wahoo Tackle Tips
This time of year is wahoo. We use high speed trolling lures with heavy trolling weights and 200# shock cord. Capable of speeds up to 60 mph, wahoo have little trouble attacking lures trolled at 15 knots. Additionally, fast trolling speeds allow anglers to cover large areas of water. Always have a ‘jig stick’ ready when trolling for wahoo too in case there are more fish! Cast a smaller, low-profile jig that will give a wahoo less to grab onto and better chances to get hooked.

Fishing report for 11-5 to 11-12. Mother nature decided not to let us go offshore this week especially because it was the second weekend of snapper season which we haven’t had in 3 years. Word on the street is the NOAA is going to give us a make up weekend. That has yet to be announced, Lets hope for smooth seas and hungry fish. I recently did an interview with FOX 35 Orlando regarding artificial reefs and how it affects fishing. This week a tugboat will be sunk as part of the artificial reef. View the story and

Ponce Inlet Fishing Report: Oct 26th – Nov 2nd
Ponce Inlet fishing report for October 26th to November 2nd Took the Costa del Mar Italian sunglasses frame manufacturing team fishing for some offshore action. We wanted to show them different species of fish available in Florida. Started the day with some bottom fishing at the Party Grounds. Much like last week the bottom fishing was non stop action. We caught trigger fish, red eyes, red snappers, sea bass and sharks. Needless to say they were exhausted from the constant reeling 1/2 way through the day. My mate and I decided to show them how trolling works.. Ran a couple
