Fishing continues to be consistent in the Tomoka river basin. Jumping juvenile tarpon and the snook bite is on fire. Fishing near or on top of oyster beds using live shrimp will yield the best results for snook. Soaking shrimp on the bottom will pull up some red fish and flounder. If you’re using spin or soft baits pick bright colors since the water is very murky.

The Tomoka Basin fishing has been incredible for the last few weeks and this week didn’t disappoint. Took a young man and his dad out for some action and it was non stop all day. His dad told me he has never caught a snook and wanting one real bad. 8 snook later he was tired. Also landed some jacks and redfish.
